In order that students undertaking the course obtain a foundation in the study of Theology, a number of compulsory core modules are prescribed. These modules address the: historical underpinnings of the study of the Bible; the mechanisms for analysing original Scriptural texts; and major doctrines of Christianity and their implications for Christian worship, life, work and witness. The core modules of the course take cognisance of the fact that the students undertaking the course have not completed an undergraduate degree in Theology.
An extensive range of electives provides the student with the opportunity to pursue study in an area of interest in the field of Theology. Specific studies include Exegesis, Public Communication Skills, Ethics, Old and New Testament Theology and Research Methodology.
Studies undertaken in this area of the course will not only develop knowledge and skills required to upgrade the performance of the student in practical settings but also increase the personal satisfaction they obtain from the study of Theology.
