Students currently enrolled in this course must complete the course requirements by 31 December 2010 in order to graduate.

This course provides balanced training to equip Christians to understand and function helpfully in counselling roles under supervision/oversight in church and other settings. It is Christian in orientation, but also provides a sound understanding of secular approaches to counselling.

The course includes a number of foundational theological modules, explores various approaches to counselling and considers counselling practice in various situations. Students learn to integrate biblical and psychological principles, to use practical counselling skills and to help clients work through problem issues.

Duration

The course can be completed in two years or the parttime equivalent.
